We offer original German Navy Kriegsmarine helmet. Most probably it was used by German navy officer dislocated in Bulgaria/ Varna port during the WWII. After the war during the communist regime all German shells were destroyed or insignia erased. Hopefully, by some chance this helmet survived in its almost original condition. However there are traces of black paint layer that covered the decal with German national colors, while the eagle decal was partially destroyed. The shell retains its original color, with just a few small spots of rust.
On left side of the helmet is seen the original Kriegsmarine Eagle decal. The eagle is of yellow color - gold-foil on black. Its head and the swastika were erased.
On the right side there is the German national tricolors shield. After the war it was covered with black paint that was partially removed.
Liner is of M31 model, absolutely authentic , attached by an aluminum ring. The ring is marked with two stamps “Metall - Lederverarbeilung W.Z. bln. - Cliburg 5 1934" , and " 64 nA 57" . Obviously it was made in 1934.
Liner size is EU 57; it is in very good condition. The chinstraps are missing, there is only one piece left .
The rear helmet is stamped with "ET64" - manufactured by the Thale, and the number "4397". Just after the number is hardly seen a hand written inscription "Monl .." – most probably part of officer’s name.
Overall, this helmet is a very nice example of the Pre War Kriegsmarine combat helmet, still with the Pre-War liner, paint, and decals. Original condition.
